What is Café Défi?
Café Défi is the brain child of a handful of parents who were concerned about their special needs children. Once a special needs 'child' ages out of the education system, here that happens at 21 years of age, what then? Neurotypical kids finish high school and get jobs or go to college... and some special needs kids will do that as well. What about those that don't, don't want to, or more importantly, those who can't?
Well, our small group of parents decided that we would find a way to offer financial support to the organizations that currently exist to offer education, entertainment and 'work placement' for those young adults with special needs. We have big plans as we grow. We hope that someday, Café Défi will be more than just an online coffee seller who donates the profits to other organizations. We hope that we will grow to become one of those organizations. Café Défi the foundation perhaps, sponsoring semi-independent housing, a business where these 'kids' can work or volunteer, activities they can enjoy with other young adults with special needs, and lots more. Big ambitions.
So big in fact, we took a step back, and started step by step. Since most successful businesses manned by special needs young adults deal with food in some way, we decided to start with the coffee. Café Défi partnered with a local roaster to develop our brand of different blends of amazing tasting coffee. Maybe someday Café Défi will be a physical location, however at the moment everything is online. All profits from the sale of coffee will go to support existing organizations that aid and support young adults with special needs. And as we carry on with our big dreams... we will expand our goals!

MISSION
Café Défi was born to help our local special needs community. Our first step consists of offering superior boutique coffee blends to raise funds for charities and non-profits who serve our local special needs community. We hope to one day fund a foundation that will serve the special needs community around the world.
